In India alone, more than 26 million children are abandoned, calling the streets their home! An estimated 5000 children under the age of five die every day in India from preventable causes..
CFI workers are caring for these children by opening their hearts and homes. CFI Children’s Homes are not institutions; rather, the children live with our staff and family, living in a normal community attending the local school along with their friends. This way these children learn how to be in a normal family and how to live in a community. More than that, they receive the love and care of a mother and father. And most importantly, they come to know the love and care of the heavenly Father.

Through partnership with people like you we are able to provide the finances necessary for the care of these children.

Amod Digal is a 13 year old boy. He was born and brought up in a poor family.  Amod was very fond of going to school and wanted to study. But the poor financial status of the family restricted him from having a good education.  To add more to his pain, his father insisted Amod to assist him in in his labour work in-order to support the family and earn a livelihood. 

Amod was always down in tears when he used to see kids of his age going to school and studying. He kept the matter in his heart. But if there is a will there is a way. Once our staff Simon Digal the in-charge of the Nidhiapalli Children’s Home made a visit to Ratingia a small village that Amod comes from.

Simon could notice the great interest and desire that the boy had for the studies. Immediately Simon asked his parents and hence Amod was enrolled in the Children’s Home.

Amod has started cherishing his dreams and today he is one of the most disciplined boys at this Children Home. This home has given him a shape to grow towards a bright future. He has found the smile on his face which is the sole purpose of our existence. Amod is in class 7th and progressing from an average student to a brilliant one. His dreams and plans are high. 

“Initially I thought, my destiny is to become a labourer.  But this children home changed the reason of my life. Now I want to become a great man,” says Amod. His change is a miracle for his in- charge Simon Digal as he exclaims, “I took him by seeing his passion for studies. But later I learned he is quite naughty too. It took some real tough time for me to nourish him. I am happy to see him as transformed kid today. He is a great asset for our nation.” CFI has eleven Children’s Homes in Odisha where one hundred and fifty two kids are being taken care of. There are many Amod’s in these homes who enjoy and transformed.  Continue to support and love these kids as we together venture into these lives.

Here is the brief experience of Sarita Bag who found the real joy of life after entering our Children Home.

Sarita Bag was born in a very poor tribal family. She is 11 years old and comes from Tarighat which is an interior part of Koraput district of Odisha. Nityanand Bag father of Sarita Bag is a labourer who does not have a daily work. He is the only breadwinner of the family and hence the family finds it difficult to get their livelihood when Nityanand doesn’t get any work.
There were many days in which Sarita and her family had to sleep without having any food. So the education for the children was far from the mind of her parents. With this situation Sarita was brought to this home with a hope to give her a better future on April, 2011.

Blessing came after joining the Home:

Getting into school was a new and refreshing experience for Sarita. She enjoyed the very bit of it with its share of problems as well. Being raised in a tribal village she only learned her tribal language and was very weak in the state language, Odiya.

Special efforts and pain was needed for little Sarita to counter it which she did well. She has now mastered the language and speaks fluently.

She has raised her bar in studies too.  A girl who once was considered the last is now turned into an upcoming student of the class.

All these things happened in our life only because of CFI’s vision and desire to see the girls of Odisha getting empowered.

Notable changes were noticed in her character too. Being brought up in a humble background, she was un-disciplined and has no aim. After undergoing severe learning period, she has now become a good girl who values cleanliness on high.

Though she has her own share of pain and troubles but the CH atmosphere has brought a growth in her as well as spiritual life.
She is in class 4th and is aiming high to become a teacher. Cute little Sarita has smile all over her face these days. Her future seemed dark once which has received a new lease of life through CFI. “I want to thank CFI and every generous donor who love and support us. Thank you, you are making us dream big.” says Sarita.

Street Children Home

There are more than 27 million children in the streets of India, who call the bus stations, railway stations, pavements and public spaces as their homes.
CFI wants to reduce this mammoth count into diminutive numbers by 2030!
CFI started a Home for the children thrown into the streets of Delhi on 02/03/2014. Our Staff Mr. Anu Mathew and Ms. Akhrole as a family dedicated their lives for the cause of these neglected and abused children in streets.
The Care Home has a capacity to accommodate 30 children. The innocent children rehabilitated in this Home would become leaders of our country in the future. Thank you CFI for investing in the lives of abandoned children in the streets, you are bringing happiness in this world by this project.”

Ms. Neena who by profession is a pilot said “I am so glad to be part of this program that ensures the safety, security and bright future of abandoned girl children in Delhi.”
She urged the children to overcome all hurdles that come across to become great leaders in the country. She became a pilot during those days when the profession was monopolized by men.
