Education

Shakalpur School

Transforming communities through embracing the segregated:

In year 2012, CFI was able to buy a piece of land and constructed a school building. The school is now recognised and follows state syllabus. A small tuition centre which started with 20 students has now become a big school with 138 students. Time to time CFI distributes uniforms and study materials to the students.

Children are now the transforming agents in their families and neighbourhood.  Whatever they learn in the school they apply that in their homes. They are becoming particular about cleanliness and discipline.

These little children go home and tell their parents that intoxications are not good for them and that will affect their health badly. Parents too are becoming aware and being supportive.

Transforming communities through Education:

In Indian states and villages most children do not get the right to education because of family’s poverty and ignorance.  If parents don’t have the money to pay for education, their children continue to live with illiteracy and poverty.
CFI’s educational initiatives are changing the future for thousands of these children.

Some of our staff offers basic tuition services to the children of illiterate parents who are unable to supervise the homework. In other regions the CFI workers offer fully accredited schools, providing English-medium, Value education to thousands of children. CFI’s educational programs are powerful agents of transformation.

Around 4572 children are getting education in CFI schools and education centres. CFI is also able to build a school building in Agra, Shakalpur Village. In the past three years three more schools were opened in Rajasthan and Vyara. Two schools were acquired, Ideal School in Bhopal and Navjeevan School in Kusumera, Uttar Pradesh.

These schools help us reach many destitute children who are in desperate need of education in these places.
Through your support our dream for educating the poor children of Shakalpur village is being fulfilled. Now all the kids are moving forward for the better future.

Pooja

“I thank CFI for providing an opportunity to study in this school. Studying was a dream coming true for me” says Pooja student of Shakalpur village school.

Pooja is one of the smartest students of Shakalpur village school.  She belongs to Snake charmer people group.  Hailing from poor family she has five brothers and two sisters.

She has a father and mother.  Father is a snake charmer and mother is a housewife.  The entire family lives in a tiny mud house with no basic facilities of life.

They even do not have access to clean water, electricity and sanitation facility. Hence they are vulnerable to many water-borne diseases.

Her father earns their daily living by showing the snake from village to villager. But the earning he gets is not sufficient to run the family. Sometimes he hardly earns 50-60 rupees.  Thus he struggles to provide the basic needs of the family.
Due to poverty and illiteracy they do not send their children to school.

“I wanted to study but my parents had no money to meet my school expenses. My father’s earning was not sufficient to meet all our needs.  We hardly used to get three times meal.   To help my family I joined Beauty parlour as a helper and started supporting my family with little earning.

When school was opened in my village I was very excited and I also wanted to study”.
First day when she came to school she did not know how to read and write. However, as days passed by she worked hard and began to improve in studies.

As a result of her hard work she has improved much in her studies. Apart from studies she is good in dancing.
“I have a dream to become a doctor when I grow up. English is bit tough for me, but Hindi is my best subject”.
Like Pooja many kids have been blessed through this school.

Had not CFI taken initiative to educate the poor kids of Shakalpur, they would have lived their lives as their parents in utter darkness and poverty.
